Richard Booth’s background is one of arts and music. He studied fine art painting at Exeter College of Art and photography at Central St Martins in London.
His keen interest in architecture resulted in exhibitions at The Architectural Association in London, in 1999 and 2000. Since moving to Wales in 2007, Richard Booth’s work has focused on landscape and nature. His work has been published in the UK, Europe, the USA and Japan.
Booth describes his approach as one of enquiry. In his own words: “The subject matter may not be immediately considered aesthetic, or worthy in that sense, however, all subjects have qualities which form a personality and character, and can reveal much on closer inspection. The subtle, the mundane, the overlooked and the ordinary, along with man’s footprint in the environment and nature’s re-claiming of that footprint, are all part of my interest in the ever changing narrative that forms our landscape.”
